Team Oyo’s Medal Haul Continues at National Youth Games

Team Oyo’s impressive performance at the 8th National Youth Games continued yesterday, with additional medals secured in boxing and Kung-fu events.

According to BCOS Sports Reporter covering the Games in Asaba, Delta State Tobi Ajewole, two young pugilists Ahmed Mariam and Adekunle Roqeeb put up valiant efforts in the boxing semifinals but lost to their counterparts from Abia State and Bornu State, respectively .

Despite the losses, both boxers are assured of bronze medals.

The day’s highlight came when Adunbarin Awwal clinched gold in the Boys 51kg Kung-fu event.

Today, September 17th, Team Oyo shifts focus to traditional sports as they face Imo State in the Girls’ Abula event, scheduled for 8:30 am.

With the medal tally increasing, Team Oyo maintains its momentum at the Games.
