
The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South West Development Commission, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has extended heartfelt felicitations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the joyous occasion of his 90th birthday.
In a statement released to the media by Kunle Olatunji, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Akintunde, the lawmaker expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for preserving the life of the revered monarch and for granting him the grace to witness such a remarkable milestone.

“I rejoice with the royal family, the good people of Ibadanland, and all well-wishers on this momentous celebration of the 90th birthday of Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland. This is indeed a unique and historic moment worthy of celebration,” Senator Akintunde stated.
He described Kabiyesi’s life as a testament to divine grace, marked by resilience, wisdom, and a legacy of service to his people.
“Kabiyesi’s journey to the throne reflects not only God’s immense benevolence but also his dedication, patience, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Ibadanland. His reign has further consolidated the synergy between the people, the government, and traditional institutions—fostering remarkable development and infrastructural growth across the city.”
Senator Akintunde also commended the Olubadan for redefining the role of traditional leadership in modern governance, emphasizing the monarch’s contributions to peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ibadan
“His Imperial Majesty has demonstrated uncommon wisdom and visionary leadership that continue to reposition the traditional institution as a vital stakeholder in the governance process.”
He prayed for continued strength, good health, and a peaceful reign for the Olubadan.
