Maolid Nabiyy: Aare Musulumi Felicitates With Muslim Ummah, Calls for Reflection on Prophet’s Teachings

The Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta states, His Eminence, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola (De-Damak) rejoiced with Muslim Ummah across the country on this year’s celebration of Maolid Nabiyy and urged them to always imbibe the teachings and good virtues of the holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as clearly stated in the holy Qur’an and Hadith of Muhammed, the last Messenger of Allah (SWT).

Alhaji Akinola, who is also the Aare of Ibadanland stated this in his congratulatory message as contained in a press statement issued from his Media Office and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Monday tasked Nigerians to come together in unity and brotherhood, that the Prophet’s life and times symbolized resistance, empathy, respect, and care for all, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.

According to the religious leader, “in commemoration of this significant event, we should reflect on the wonderful and laudable lifestyle of Prophet Muhammed and reaffirm our sincere commitment to the values of justice and peace in order to move the country forward for the betterment of the populace”.

“It is imperative for us to come together and promote peace, national cohesion as displayed by Prophet Muhàmmed during his lifetime. I strongly believe the country will benefit immensely, even beyond expectation if we uphold these values in our daily activities”

Chief Akinola congratulated the Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Patron of Oyo State League of Imams and Alfa, Sheikh Abubakry Agbotomokekere; leadership of Muslim communities in Yoruba land and Nigeria at large.

He, however, called on Islamic Clerics across the country to aggressively continue their prayers for political leaders, right from President Bola Tinubu to Councilors at the Ward level of the third tier of governance in order to ensure rapid transformation of the nation’s economy.

Alhaji Akinola thereafter prayed for continued protection and blessings for all Nigerians, especially political office holders for the strength and wisdom to ensure quick socio-economic transformation of the economy.

“I wish to seize this opportunity to strongly appeal to various Islamic organizations and Muslim Communities to celebrate Maolid Nabiyy programmes with moderation and be very prudent in their expenses in line with Allah’s directive through the holy Qur’an and Hadith of Prophet Muhammed”, the statement concluded.
