ETF Boss charges Tertiary Institutions, Stakeholders to support state education trust fund

The Oyo State Education Trust Funds Chairman, Bar. Abdu-Raheem Abiodun, has urged the state owned tertiary Institutions and other stakeholders to support the Oyo state Education Trust Fund for the development of the education sector of the state.

The Chairman, who led the management team of the ETF on a familiarization visit to the management staff of the Polytechnic of Ibadan and the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery Eleyele, Ibadan tasked the institutions to pay their dues as and when due to the coffers of the ETF.

He explained that the endowment fund would assist the state in providing basic infrastructure and meeting other exigencies in public schools and Tertiary Institutions across the state.

According to the Chairman, the availability of funds in the coffer of the ETF would become handy to tackle the infrastructural deficit in the education sector and provide basic essential materials for its public schools and institutions.

He called on corporate organizations and well-meaning individuals to join hands with the state government in its effort at providing basic infrastructure in public schools across the state.

He solicited the understanding of the people on the endowment levy, saying funding the education sector should be a collective effort, and not left in the hands of government alone.

In their separate remarks, the Deputy Rector, the Ibadan Polytechnic, Mrs. Olaide Salami and the Deputy Provost, the Oyo State College of Nursing, Mrs. Adeleke Iyabode, appreciated the team from the Education Trust Fund, pledging their support for the success of the ETF.

The duo reiterated the commitment of the institutions towards remitting their dues to the coffers of the Education Trust Fund as and when due.

On the tour were the Executive Secretary, Mr. Adekunle Taiwo and other Management Staff of the Education Trust Fund.
