Ahmed Raji Charges Wealthy Nigerians to Support Community Development …….as Oke-Ogun people hails Obasanjo, Raji over Free Medical Outreach

Well meaning Nigerians have been charged to imbibe the culture of giving back to their communities and the less privilege ones in order to enhance their standard of living for the betterment of the society.

Chief Ahmed Raji (SAN), the Babaadinni of Oke-Ogun gave this charge on Wednesday in Iseyin during the Flag-Off of a 3-Day Free Medical Mission, organised by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation in collaboration with Chief Ahmed Raji.

According to the legal luminary, the 3-Day free medical outreach for the people of South West with the theme, ‘Sound Intervention Mission’ was meant to treat over ten thousand people with various medical conditions free of charge.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the Flag-Off, Chief Ahmed Raji greatly appreciated former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the life changing initiative.

Chief Raji, who commended Chief Obasanjo’s kind gesture, expressed his readiness to always support any noble idea that will ameliorate people’s suffering and enhance their standard of living.

While showering encomium on Chief Obasanjo for his philanthropic gesture, Chief Ahmed Raji disclosed that kits distributed to the hearing impaired people worth three million naira each.

He, however, enjoined all the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials in order to encourage the donor to do more.

The Iseyin-born legal icon also urged members of the public to start electing reliable, dependable and energetic youths with noble ideas into political offices in order to ensure rapid socio and economic development of the nation.

According to him, the likes of late General Muritala Muhammed and retired General Olusegun Obasanjo ruled the country successfully in their forties.

Beneficiaries of the medical outreach which include Alhaji Memudu R.A and Mrs Adebunmi Kazeem with eye challenges and several others with different health conditions that received treatment at the programme expressed their deep gratitude to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Ahmed Raji for their kind gesture.

The laudable programme had in attendance the Aseyin of Iseyin land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sefiu Olawale, Ajirotutu 1; the Okere of Saki, His Majesty, Oba Khalid Olabisi and Iba of Kishi, His Majesty, Oba Moshood Aweda who led other Traditional Rulers from Oke-Ogun.

The free medical programme was also attended by both former and present chairmen of Iseyin Local Government, Hon Saheed Alaran and Hon Rasaq Fadiran respectively.
