Chief Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has publicly apologised over the incident that recently occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
In a statement personally signed by the veteran artiste, K1 expressed deep regret over the misunderstanding surrounding the contents of a flask he was seen with at the airport. He strongly denied that the flask contained alcohol, clarifying that it only held water to manage a medical condition.

“Unknown to many, I suffer from chronic dehydration, and my doctor strongly advised that I remain constantly hydrated. This is why I always carry a water flask with me,” K1 explained.
According to him, the flask was empty during security checks and was only filled with water at the airport lounge before he proceeded to board. He said this claim could be verified by CCTV footage.
K1 insisted he was not deboarded as widely speculated, stating that he had not even boarded the aircraft before the controversy began.
He extended his apologies to the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), ValueJet Airline, and the general public.
“I acknowledge and deeply regret the concerns that arose from the incident. It was never my intention to cause any disruption or violate aviation protocols in any way,” he said.
K1 also reiterated his patriotism and his lifelong efforts to promote Nigeria and its culture through music.
“I would never do anything to tarnish the image I’ve built over the past five decades, nor would I knowingly act in a way that could diminish the reputation of the country I love so dearly.”
He concluded by assuring fans and officials of his continued commitment to upholding the values expected of a global ambassador of Nigerian music and culture.
