The Vice-Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, has sympathised with the management of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, also known as SPED, over the passing of one of its staff members, Mr. Moses Onilude, an Assistant Deputy Registrar in the institution.
Prof. Oduwole also extended her condolences over the havoc caused by a storm that followed the rain which fell on Friday, 27th March 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor conveyed her sympathy during a courtesy visit to the Provost of the institution, Dr. Rauf Salami, following her invitation as guest speaker by the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN), Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo Chapter.
Prof. Oduwole was accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Afolake Olanbiwonninu; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Olukayode Binuyo; the University Librarian, Dr. Bosede Ajiboye; Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Cornelius Ojo; and other top officials of the university.
Receiving the Vice-Chancellor and her delegation to his office, Dr. Salami explained what distinguishes the institution, focusing on its large concentration of specialist teachers for students with special needs.
“We are special in our tactics and delivery, and we have been adjudged the best in that field,” he said.
Dr. Salami thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the ACU management team for supporting SPED staff, particularly those pursuing Post Graduate programmes at Ajayi Crowther University.
Responding, Prof. Oduwole noted that ACU places great value on viable collaborations and partnerships. She stated that when the invitation to serve as guest speaker at the institution was extended, it was seen as an opportunity to establish meaningful collaboration.
Following the courtesy visit, Prof. Oduwole delivered a lecture titled “Rights, Justice and Actions for Women’s Safety at the Workplace” in commemoration of the 2026 International Women’s Day.
