It is with a heavy heart that the Oyo State Government announces the passing of Engineer Sunday Makinde, the eldest brother of Governor Seyi Makinde. According to a statement released by Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, a brother of the deceased and the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Engineer Sunday Makinde passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65.
As announced by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, Engineer Sunday Makinde’s sudden death occurred in his Ibadan residence at 3:20 am. He is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as his children and grandchildren.
The Oyo State Government requests that the public join them in mourning the loss of Engineer Sunday Makinde, a respected member of the community. May he rest in peace.
