Senator Akintunde Congratulates Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade on Emergence as Alaafin Designate

Senator Yunus Akintunde the Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate House Committee on Environment has sent message of congratulations and prayers to Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade on the announcement of his emergence as the Alaafin designate.

In a statement released to the Media by Kunle Olatunji the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Yunus Akintunde, he further described the choice and approval of the new Alaafin as divinely ordained with strong conviction that his reign will bring unity and development to the ancient town of Oyo and Yorubaland at large.

“I have known Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade the Alaafin designate for a long time and can attest to his good and amiable nature, perfectly fit for the throne as our Monarch in the ancient city of Oyo”.

“I trust Almighty God that his reign after the rites and coronation will bring unity and rapid development to Oyo city”.

“The extensive corporate exposure, quality character, rich educational and cultural background, finesse, among other virtues are evident in his personality status that have endeared him to several people and his passionate disposition and commitment to the development of Oyo cannot be queried even before he expressed his desires and intentions to ascend to the exalted throne of Alaafin”

The Executive Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Seyi Makinde recently announced Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade as the Alaafin designate bringing to a conclusion the long drawn selection process of a new Alaafin after the passage of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi II.

“Once again I congratulate our new Alaafin designate and wish him a long reign in good health and immense blessings.”
