Oyo APC Chieftain, Aleshinloye, PMS Boss, ‘Tommy’ Hails Olatunji’s Transformative Leadership As Oluyole LG Commissions Landmark Projects

The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has further solidified his reputation for transformative leadership with the commissioning of two landmark projects in Ward II of Oluyole. The newly constructed Amotekun Security Building at Liberty Academy, named in honour of PMS Chairman, Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa and the Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja Motorcycle Park at Taska Junction, facilitated by community leader Alhaji Akande Omoowo and built under Olatunji’s administration, demonstrate the power of collaborative governance and community-driven development.

These projects not only underscore Olatunji’s commitment to people-oriented leadership but also showcase the impact of collective effort in driving progress and improving the lives of residents.

Shortly after the commissioning of Amotekun Security Building, Alhaji Omolewa inaugurated a newly constructed motorcycle park at Taska Junction, also in Ward II.

The project, built by the Oluyole Local Government under Olatunji’s administration, was named Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja Park in honour of the respected former diplomat and PDP leader.

In his brief remarks at the event, Hon. Olatunji described the project as a shining example of what happens when citizens take ownership of community development.

Olatunji added that both projects, located in Ward II of Oluyole, have come to symbolize the cooperative spirit that now defines local governance in the area, where government action meets community initiative to produce tangible progress.

“This is what progress looks like when people don’t wait for government alone but see their community as a shared responsibility,” he said, commending Alhaji Omoowo’s initiative and urging others to follow suit.

He also expressed gratitude to PMS Chairman, Alhaji Omolewa, for his contributions to peace and order in the state, particularly in Oluyole local government.

“Oyo has remained peaceful because of leaders who understand the value of stability; Governor Seyi Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro, and Alhaji Omolewa have all played vital roles in ensuring that peace thrives,” he said.

Among the dignitaries who joined in celebrating the milestone was Hon. Abass Aleshinloye, former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Aleshinloye praised Olatunji’s leadership style, describing his performance as “impressively people-oriented and transformative.”

He also commended the PMS leadership for fostering peace across political divides, noting that “development thrives where there is collaboration, not competition.”

Responding, Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa expressed his deep gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for what he called an “inclusive governance approach” and assured residents of his continued commitment to maintaining harmony across Oyo State.

“Our strength lies in unity. We’ll keep ensuring that peace remains Oyo’s identity,” Omolewa said.

In his goodwill message, Alhaji Akande Omoowo, who facilitated the Amotekun project, thanked both the governor and the PMS boss for their support and greatly commended Hon. Olatunji for providing the environment that encouraged such community development efforts.

Omolewa also described the Ambassador Arapaja Park as a thoughtful project that would ease traffic congestion, improve orderliness, and empower local transport operators. He lauded Olatunji’s leadership for “turning grassroots governance into visible impact.”

The twin events attracted a cross-section of political figures and community leaders, including Chief Oluyinka Banjo, Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Orita Challenge Division; Alhaji Kazeem Babalola, Deputy Commandant of Amotekun; and Baale Idiroko, Chief Busari Sikiru.

Also present were Hon. Niyi Akorede, Vice Chairman of Oluyole LG; Hon. Taofeek Azeez, Leader of the Legislative House; Hon. Dele Adeshina, Councillor for Ward II; as well as supervisory councillors, aides, and traditional rulers.
