Olubadan of Ibadanland Alive In Sound Health, Says Oyo Govt

The Oyo State Government has swiftly debunked rumors circulating in the media about the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Olakulehin Ige I.

These rumors, which began spreading on Monday night, claimed that the revered monarch had died at the age of 89.

However, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, has confirmed that the Olubadan is indeed alive and in good health.

Speaking to newsmen, Olatunbosun confirmed that he had spoken with Prince Olaseke Owolabi Olakulehin, a representative of the royal family at the coronation committee, who reaffirmed the monarch’s well-being.

The Oyo State Government urged the public to disregard the misinformation and refrain from spreading unverified news.

In a related development, Springstar Magazine correspondent early this morning spoke with Prince Adekunle Owolabi who also debunked the fake news.
