The Olubadan of Ibadan Land, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I) will on Friday, 21st August, 2026 promote two Chiefs to higher ranks in Otun Olubadan Chieftaincy Line.
According to a press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, the two Chiefs scheduled for promotion are Chief Kabiru Ademola Makinde, Mogaji Makinde Ope-Oya Compound, Oje area of Ibadan, who will be elevated to the prestigious position of Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chief Charles Olumuyiwa Durasaro of Durosaro Compound, Gegelose area, Ibadan, who will be promoted to the traditional position of Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The promotion ceremony, which is expected to further underscore the Olubadan’s commitment to upholding the revered traditions, values and hierarchical structure of the historic Ibadan traditional institution, will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan. The occasion is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional leaders, family members, friends and other stakeholders who will witness the formal elevation of the two distinguished Chiefs to their new traditional positions.
