Nigeria at 64: Ibadan North West LG Chairman Urges Nigerians to Unite for a Better Tomorrow

Nigerians have been urged to work as a team in sustaining harmonious and peaceful co-existence among themselves as desired by Nigeria falling heroes who fought for the sovereignty of a better Nigeria.

This assertion was made by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju in his congratulatory message in marking Nigeria’s 64th independence Anniversary.

According to a statement issued by Ramat Alade, Head of Information Unit of the Council, the Chairman said Independence Day is a significant day in the history of Nigeria which must be celebrated by all and sundry regardless of socio, political or religious differences.

“Today marks 64 years, when the visions, gallant fights and struggles of Nigeria Nationalist leaders for Nigeria to become a strong, united, sovereign state come to reality”, he stated.

Alh Adepoju eulogised the nationalist leaders for their giant strides and steadfastness in ensuring that Nigeria attained its independence and became a sovereign nation.

He also described them as martyrs whose legacies will forever linger in the minds of Nigerians.

The Council Boss said ‘though the nation is facing many challenges, we have to remain resolute and join hands to overcome those challenges as we build a virile nation’.

The Executive Chairman rejoiced with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Independence day Anniversary celebration with a charge to Nigerians not to relent in giving their unflinching supports to the present administration under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in building the country for a better tomorrow.

Alh Adepoju also Congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde on the Independence Anniversary with the assurance that residents of Ibadan Northwest Local Government will continue to collaborate and work together in making his visions for the state come to reality.

The Council Boss, however, urged all politicians to shun politics of violence, sentiment, bitterness and acrimony but work for the sustainability of love, peace, harmony and unity of Nigeria.

Alh Rahman Adepoju wishes residents of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole Happy Independence Day Celebrations and prays that the independence brings fortune and success for all and sundry.
