President Tinubu Approves N35,000 Provisional Wage For Workers

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has granted a temporary wage increase of N35,000 to all federal government employees paid from the treasury for a duration of six months. This decision was communicated in an official statement signed by Mallam Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation.

The Minister explained that this wage adjustment was a result of discussions between the Federal Government delegation and representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) held on Sunday.

It’s worth noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had previously announced, during his national address commemorating Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary, an additional monthly wage of twenty-five thousand naira to supplement the federal minimum wage for workers. Additionally, the Federal Government pledged support for micro and small-scale enterprises and exemptions from VAT on diesel for the next six months.
