Kajola LG Boss, Akeem Mustapha, Pledges Continued Support for NYSC Scheme

The Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government area of Oyo State, Hon. Akeem Olawale Mustapha on Thursday assured that his administration will continue to cater for needs of the NYSC scheme in order to ensure a promising future for the teeming population of youths in the society.

Hon. Mustapha gave the assurance during a get together and interactive session with the corps members serving in his Council at the premises of the Staff Quarters, Lafihan, Okeho.

According to a release by Richard Adekunle, Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the local government, the Council boss submitted that the support of his administration would make the NYSC scheme more functional, efficient and effective for delivery of service to humanity in the area.

He reiterated that his government would continue to provide an enabling environment for youths to realise their creative and productive capabilities as potential leaders of tomorrow.

While pledging his continued readiness to support the NYSC scheme morally and financially, Hon. Mustapha requested for increase in numbers of corps members to be posted to the Council area in the nearest future, particularly those in medical field.

In his remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator of NYSC, Comrade ( Chief ) Odoba Abel Oche lauded the patriotic and proactive efforts of Kajola Local Government’s helmsman in representing an enduring socio-cultural cohesive instrument that brought positive values, worthy of emulation to the NYSC scheme.

While appraising the exceptional performance of the Oyo State Directorate of NYSC under his watch, he sought for more collaboration with corporate organisations and individuals in order to lift the scheme to higher levels.

Responding on behalf of the corps members, the Corpers’ Liason Officer ( CLO ) in Kajola Local Government, Adeleye Abdulfatai expressed his deep gratitude to the management of the Local Government for providing an enabling environment to corps members, thereby justifying their service year in contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of the society.

The colourful event was attended by the Vice Chairman/Political Head, Iwa Local Council Development Area, Hon. ( Dr ) Robert Charles Adeniji; members of the Legislative House; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Segun Olaonipekun; Chief of Staff, Hon. Tiamiyu Adewole; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Afusat Abass; Supervisors, Directors and Sectional Heads.

Others include staffers of the State Directorate of NYSC, including the Ibarapa Zonal Director, Mr. Bolaji; the Protocol Officer, Mr. Abraham Adeyinke; the Media Officer, Mr. Kola Oladele and the Local Government Inspector, Mr. Olayinka Oguntola.
