Aare Rahmon Akintunde Alawode, President of the Yoruba Youth Council and Mogaji‑Elect of the Ifatayo‑Alawode Descendants, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims and Christians as the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season begin, describing their simultaneous observance as a powerful reminder of the shared values of faith, sacrifice, discipline, love and compassion that unite Nigerians across religious lines. In a personally signed press statement released from Ibadan, he called on adherents of both faiths to use these sacred periods for deep reflection, sincere prayer and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and unity.
Aare Alawode further emphasized that the spiritual exercises associated with fasting, prayer, and charity should translate into selfless service to humanity and collective responsibility for societal progress.

According to him, “This unique convergence of Ramadan and Lent offers us an opportunity to reaffirm our common humanity and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among our people. It is a call to love one another, promote tolerance, and work together for the good of our communities,” he added.
The Yoruba Youth Council President thereafter prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for leaders at all levels, while calling on the youth to embrace positive values and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He expressed optimism that sustained prayers during the sacred months would bring peace, stability, and accelerated development to Ibadanland, Oyo State, Yorubaland, and Nigeria at large.
Aare Alawode concluded by wishing Muslims a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and Christians a reflective and fruitful Lenten season, while encouraging all Nigerians to remain hopeful and united in the pursuit of a better nation.
