Wewe LCDA Boss Charges Students To Shun Cultism

Secondary school students across the country have been charged to shun cultism and other social vices in order not to destroy their future.

Hon. Oyedokun Tiamiyu, the Political Head/Administrator of Wewe LCDA gave this charge in Saki on Thursday during the National Campaign Programme Against Cultism.

According to him, Cultism has become a monster that is now threatening the fabric that binds us as a society.

“Parents now send their children to schools with unimaginable fear, the fear of their children, either joining these terror groups or becoming objects of attack by the reckless youth” he added.

Hon. Tiamiyu greatly expressed his gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde whom he described as not merely a progressive minded politician but also a concerned father who wants our children to be successful in life.

His words, “it is this unquantifiable love for our children that prompted His Excellency to approve this programme so that our children who are the hope and leaders of tomorrow will not crash their future in the name of cultism and other social vices” he stated.

He, however, admonished parents that are in the habit of attacking teachers who are trying to correct the erring and stubborn students through various appropriate punishment.

“Let’s join hands with the teachers so that we can have better output from our children tomorrow” he added.

Earlier in his presentation, the guest speaker, Dr. Olufemi Michael from University of Ibadan, enjoined the participants from all secondary schools in Wewe LCDA to be committed to their studies without distractions in order to excell in their future endeavours.

Present at the event were Engr. Lateef Durodola, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA) and all the Directors as well as Deputy Directors and Unit Heads.
