President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, approved the appointment of Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed and Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Directors-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Services (DSS) respectively.

According to a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ambassador Mohammed, who joined the NIA in 1995, has had a distinguished career with stints in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and at the State House in Abuja. Before his new role, he served as Nigeria’s envoy to Libya.

Mr. Ajayi, the new Director General of the DSS, rose through the ranks to Assistant Director-General, having served as State Director in Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.

The appointments follow the recent resignation of the former heads of the NIA and DSS.
