In his determination to enhance farmers’ productivity to improve their standard of living and to ensure food security, Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji, member of the House of Representatives, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency of Oyo State on Monday at the Secretariat of Kajola Local Government flagged off the second phase of distribution of free fertilizers to farmers across the four local governments.
Hon. Oyedeji (OSHINE) who was represented by Hon. Johnson Ojebiyi disclosed that the distribution of free fertilizers to farmers in his federal constituency was in fulfillment of his promises during the electioneering campaign.
According to Hon. Ojebiyi, the federal parliamentarian had earlier pledged to prioritize agriculture so as to increase agricultural produce and to ensure food security.
He thereafter charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the fertilizers in order to achieve the objective of the laudable exercise.
In their separate remarks, beneficiaries of the second phase of the exercise which include AFAN, Women in Farming, Baale Agbe-in-Council, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), League of Imams and Alfas and Park Managers greatly appreciated Hon. Oyedeji for his wonderful support during this challenging time in which purchase of fertilizer is becoming unbearable for them to buy as a result of inflation.
He, however, lauded Hon. Oyedeji, popularly known as OSHINE on erection of solar lights, award of scholarships, construction of school buildings, toilets and others across the Federal Constituency.
In his brief remark, the Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Hon. Olawale Mustapha commended the Lawmaker for giving priority to agriculture in order to encourage farmers across the Federal Constituency.
Hon. Mustapha, on behalf of other Council chairmen in the federal constituency showered encomiums on the benefactor for coming up with the initiative at this crucial time.
Present at the occasion were PDP leaders across the Federal Constituency, political functionaries in Kajola Local Government, APC stakeholders, Baale Agbe-in-Council, Women in Farming, Park Managers, members of PDP, representatives of League of Imams and Alfas and CAN.
