NIDCOM Boss Hails Affangha as Africa Cultural Ambassador, UN Best Diplomats Conference Delegate

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has commended Miss Manyi Affangha, the Face of Culture Africa Winner, for her impactful interventions in the country.

Dabiri-Erewa gave the commendation, through, Mr. Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director, Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, NiDCOM, during a courtesy visit made by Affangha and her team to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.

The NiDCOM Boss said Affangha’s zeal to use her platform to curb hunger, poverty and female-child abuse, has earned her this lofty opportunity to enhance her portfolio.

Dabiri-Erewa, equally an advocate for youth, encouraged the Nigerian Beauty Queen to mentor more younger Nigerians, especially as most youths have resorted to crime and other societal ills.

The NiDCOM Chairman advised the Face of Culture Africa Queen, to represent the nation, well, and utilise the new skills to be learnt, for national development.

Following her winning the Face of Culture Africa, Affangha got nominated to represent Nigeria at the UN Best Diplomats Conference holding in London in September.

Earlier, Affangha said that the nomination came as a surprise to her, assuring that she will never let Nigeria down in all her endeavours.

According to the Pageant Queen, the project is aimed at poverty alleviation, girl-child education, and youth empowerment.

In addition, she named Rivers, Cross Rivers and Enugu states as well as the FCT as beneficiaries of the project since her emergence as the reigning Queen in 2023.

Affangha promised to use her wealth of experience and influence to promote African culture, especially in Nigeria.

She noted that the conference holding between September 27-30, 2024, in London, UK was geared towards training delegates on foreign policies and global matters.

The Pageant Queen thanked Hon. Dabiri-Erewa for her warm reception while promising to make Nigeria proud at the conference.
