The Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Bursary Department through its Staff Training Committee has concluded its one-day workshop, titled,”Commitment, Professionalism, and Integrity: The Hallmark of an Accountant”
In a release made available by the University’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, the workshop, held at The Newly Renovated Hall (opposite the University Indoor Sports Hall) and was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan afforded staffers of the Bursary, Internal Audit, and Procurement Department the opportunities to be further exposed to realities in the profession of accounting, auditing and finance.
Speaking at the event, the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan who was represented by the University Bursar, Mr. Olawole Adebayo Ojetola, FCA charged staffers of the Bursary Department to be more dedicated than it was used to be.
According to him, “Bursary Department in our University, just like any other organization cannot be underestimated as it handles all financial transactions of our institution. As staffers of the department, it is expected of us to ensure promptness at work, working to details, accountable and trustworthy, have integrity, be organized and creative, proactive and be able to think critically while you must be a good team player.
“I charge you to be focused and committed to your calling for efficient service-delivery. As you are aware, all units in the Bursary Department are inter-dependent and we must all work together to achieve a common goal of taking Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo to greater heights”, he stated
As a way of encouraging good performances, an award named ‘BURSARY STAFF OF THE MONTH AWARD’ shall henceforth be given to the best performing staff of the Department. On this note, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, I hereby declare this one-day workshop open.”
Guest Speakers at the workshop are the former Bursar, BOWEN University and the defunct Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Mr. A. T. Okunade and the Bursar, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Mr. Olawole Adebayo Ojetola, FCA who was equally the immediate past Bursar, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Participants at the workshop are staffers of the Bursary, Internal Audit, and Procurement Department of the university.
Speaking to our correspondent at the end of the workshop, the Secretary, Planning Committee, Mrs. Oyinkansola Ayoola described the workshop as a huge success and commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan for his leadership. According to her, “Our committee is happy on the success of today’s workshop. On behalf of the Chairman, Mr. A. T. Okunade and other members of the committee, I appreciate our dear Bursar, Mr. Olawole Adebayo Ojetola, FCA, ACIS, CDPSE for approving this initiative. We are not all leaving here the way we came in and we specially appreciate our dynamic Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju for his leadership. May God see him through in Jesus name.”
