‘A Great Loss, We’ll Miss His Wealth of Experience’ – Senator Akintunde Mourns Koleosho

Dr. Yunus Akintunde, the distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District has described the passage of Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho, the Babalaje of Saki, as a great loss to Oyo State and the entire nation at large.

Senator Akintunde in a statement of condolence made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday by Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the federal lawmaker, described the death of the elder statesman as the exit of a political titan whose wealth of knowledge in politics and strategy was rare and unequalled.

Late Chief Michael Koleosho “Babalaje as we fondly referred to the late Chief Koleosho has been a staunch leader within the progressive family as a disciple and member of Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s political dynasty, though soft spoken with elegance and princely carriage, he was a thorough and highly disciplined leader “.

As a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government during the tenure of Alhaji Lam Adesina, Chief Michael Koleosho was a strong pillar of support and quite instrumental to the various landmark projects and lasting achievements recorded during that administration”.

“I worked closely with both Governor Lam Adesina and Chief Koleosho as the SSG while I served then as a Commissioner in the Oyo State Civil Service Commission and this provided me the rare privilege to appreciate his unique nature of unparalleled commitment to the economic and political interest of the Nation and Oyo State in particular”.

He further described Chief Koleosho as an astute businessman, a devout Christian, dedicated family man and a notable community leader who will be sorely missed by the good people of Oke Ogun, the entire people of Oyo State and the Nation.

In his words: “His sudden passage, though at a fairly old age has created a great vacuum too difficult to fill, moreso now when his service and contributions will be more relevant as an elder stateman whose wealth of experience in politics and economy is quite unique and unparalleled”.

“I join the entire nation to commiserate with his family especially my fantastic Aburo, his son Tayo Koleosho who also served with us in the first tenure of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s administration, several friends and political associates, while praying the Almighty God to grant Papa eternal rest and the rest of us the fortitude to bear the loss of his passage”. He concluded
