Democracy Day: Senator Alli Praises Tinubu, Assures Oyo Residents Ahead 2027

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli has congratulated Nigerians on Democracy Day, describing June 12 as symbolising sacrifice, resilience, freedom and democratic perseverance nationwide.

Alli, in a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, commended President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating courageous leadership through policies and reforms aimed at rebuilding Nigeria’s economy, strengthening democracy and national stability.

He stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration had continued laying foundations for sustainable growth, improved security, economic recovery and better opportunities for millions of hardworking Nigerians across states.

The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive, noting that ongoing reforms by the Federal Government would ultimately produce prosperity, stability and lasting national development.

Alli paid glowing tribute to heroes of democracy, especially late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, saying their sacrifices and struggles remained enduring reminders of Nigerians’ collective democratic aspirations and courageous resistance against oppression.

He assured residents that the APC remained determined to provide purposeful leadership, accelerated development, people-oriented governance and inclusive policies as preparations gradually intensify toward the forthcoming 2027 general elections across Nigeria.

“All progressive-minded citizens must remain united and committed toward rescuing Oyo State from underdevelopment, insecurity and economic hardship through responsible governance, visionary leadership and people-focused democratic programmes,” Alli said in the statement.

The APC governorship candidate urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu and democratic institutions, stressing that patriotism, peaceful coexistence and active participation remained necessary ingredients for national progress, unity and political stability.

Alli also expressed concern over the continued hostage of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, describing it as disturbing in a democratic and civilised society worldwide.

He urged security agencies to intensify rescue operations, assuring affected families and residents that the APC would continue supporting legitimate measures aimed at strengthening security and protecting lives throughout Oyo State communities.
