Senator Yunus Akintunde has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, describing him as a visionary monarch whose reign signifies the dawn of a new era for the ancient Oyo Kingdom.

In a statement released to the media by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde extolled the leadership qualities of Oba Owoade, noting that his commitment to the progress and unity of Oyo Kingdom has been evident even before his nomination and coronation.

“I am delighted to celebrate His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin Akeem Abimbola Owoade, Iku Baba Yeye, on this special occasion of his 50th birthday. His emergence on the throne of his forebears has brought a renewed sense of hope, vision, and unity to the people of Oyo Kingdom,” Senator Akintunde stated.

The Senator, who represents Oyo Central Senatorial District, noted that the monarch hit the ground running from the outset, setting in motion transformational initiatives aimed at repositioning the traditional institution for greater relevance and impact.

“There is no doubt that your reign is already ushering in a new era of development and harmony. Your engagements with the people, efforts towards unifying Yoruba traditional rulers, and your steadfast commitment to promoting our cultural heritage and values of quality leadership are truly commendable.”

He also praised the monarch for his role in facilitating various developmental projects across communities in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, and education, describing them as clear indicators of his capacity to drive sustainable progress.

“On behalf of the sons and daughters of Oyo Kingdom, I join Your Imperial Majesty, Olori, the royal family, and the good people of Oyo to celebrate this remarkable milestone. May your reign continue to bring peace, prosperity, and enduring legacy to our land.”
