IFC League Gulped #4m; Women’s League to Become Scouting Ground – Alli, IFC Boss

The just concluded 87th edition of Ibadan Football Council (IFC) League gulped #4 million naira, Mogaji Rotimi Alli, IFC boss has revealed.

Alli made this revelation during an interactive meeting with Coaches and representatives of Female Clubs ahead of the Women’s League which kicks off next week Saturday, August 24.

He also affirmed that the Council’s intention was to make Ibadan the melting pot of female soccer in Nigeria.

The IFC boss who fielded questions from the Coaches of female clubs which registered for the second edition of the Sherifat Kola-Daisi (SKODA)Women’s League explained that his Council spent the #4 million naira on Cash Prizes for the best ten teams, pitch maintenance, Referees indemnities, publicity, among other sundry expenses for the 190- match Championship. He pointed out that this fund was generated by the Council without grant or subvention from Government.

Enumerating the spiralling successes recorded by the League, Libero as called by admirers stated that Clubs taking part in the League had started reaping the rewards through mass transfer of players to various Leagues both at home and abroad.

He continued further that his Council would replicate the accomplishments of the Male League with the Women’s version.

Libero lamented that it was disheartening that no female player from Oyo State was given call up to the National teams despite the abundant talents in the city and State .

He declared that the Council would provide level playing ground for all the female teams to showcase their talents to the world.
