
The Oyo State Government has announced its readiness to host a series of colourful and entertaining activities under the banner “Vibing December Celebration” across various parts of the state.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Ibadan Cultural Centre, where he outlined the month-long programme designed to promote tourism, boost the local economy, and enhance social engagement during the festive period.

Presenting details of the preparations, organised by the state government in partnership with notable organisations, will provide significant business opportunities for residents throughout the season.
According to Olatunbosun, the carnival, scheduled to hold from December 1 to January 2, aims to create a lasting legacy that future administrations will be inspired to sustain and surpass.
He assured the public that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to safeguard lives and property at all designated venues before, during, and after the event.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the House Committee on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Oluranti Michael (representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency), encouraged residents and visitors to participate actively in the festivities.
She noted that the event would provide an opportunity to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage, enjoy captivating performances, and create memorable experiences with loved ones.
