Oyo Advisory Council Pays Homage To Olubadan Designate ….. as Gov Makinde okays Olakulehin as Olubadan

The Oyo State Advisory Council on Friday, as directed by Governor Seyi Makinde, paid courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin at his Alalubosa GRA residence in Ibadan.

The visit according to leader of the delegation, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, who is also the chairman of the Advisory Council, was to greet Olakulehin and see how he is faring.

Speaking further, Chief Ayorinde said now that the Council has confirmed that the Olubadan-designate is healthy for the throne, his coronation ceremony will begin soon.

Chief Ayorinde also told the Olubadan designate that the delegates which included the first female Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Segun Olayiwola, that they were sent by the governor to greet him.

According to him, the governor also promised that, he too would come and visit him when he is back from his trip outside the state.

Responding, the Olubadan Designate, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin said he is ready to assume the throne of Olubadan as the 43rd first class monarch of the ancient city.

Oba Olakulehin who spoke pleasantly to the admiration of those in attendance said this during the courtesy visit of Governor Makinde’s representatives to his Alalubosa GRA residence in Ibadan.

“The visit which could be described as part of the process that will lead to the governor’s approval was made by the Oyo State Advisory Council led by Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN)” he stated.

His words, “I am the next Olubadan, and I know truly that it is my turn. By God’s grace, I will not disappoint you my people. All of us that have been together in the system for long shall celebrate the success together. I thank the Governor for initiating this visit. We shall equally be expecting him as promised”.

Speaking on behalf of the Olubadan-In-Council, the Osi Balogun Olubadan, Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe said, “Ibadan has never been destroyed and it shall not. We sincerely thank the Governor. He is a true-born of Ibadan and I pray that he will never be out to shame. It is now that I can sleep soundly. Everybody can now see that our Kabiyesi is hale and hearty”.

Other members of Olubadan-In-Council in attendance during the visit were the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole; Osi Balogun Olubadan, Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe, Oba Abiodun KolaDaisi, and the Asipa Olubadan, Oba Kola Adegbola among others.
