NUT Honours Educ Commissioner with Award of Excellence ……dedicates Award to Gov Makinde

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Oyo State Wing, on Saturday, honored the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu with an award of excellence in recognition of his support towards the development of the association.

The colorful ceremony held at NUT Model College Sports’ Complex, Owode Housing Estate, Ibadan was part of the activities marking the 2024 World Teachers’ Day celebration by the association.

Dignitaries who graced the award ceremony were the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde,top government officials, teachers across thirty-three local governments of the state and a host of others.

The award was presented to the commissioner by the Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni.

Speaking with journalists after receiving the award, Prof. Adelabu said he dedicated the award to his Principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire education family.

He appreciated the union for finding him worthy of being honoured, urging them to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the state, particularly the education sector.
