The Palace of Alado of Ado-Awaye wishes to address a recent press release alleging the planned conferment of chieftaincy titles to ten Fulani individuals.
This is contained in a press statement from the media office of His Royal Majesty, Oba Rev’d Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, the Alado of Ado-Awaye.

According to the statement, “we appreciate the concern shown by the youths as well as sons and daughters of Ado-Awaye for the betterment of the community.”
The palace further denies any plans to confer chieftaincy titles to Fulanis. In 2017, His Majesty, Oba Olugbile Folakanmi, approved the appointment of four Seriki Fulani to work with Alado-in-Council to resolve farmer-Fulani conflicts, ensuring relative peace in Ado-Awaye.
The palace also allowed Miyetti Allah Fulani association to inaugurate administrative bodies after informing security agencies accordingly but halted the process due to tensions.
“The Alado remains committed to maintaining peace across the community and environs and will not compromise on this for whatever reason,” the statement concluded.
