In a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria’s primary healthcare system, the Community Health Institute (CHI) has launched the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) for Community Health Practitioners in Oyo and Lagos States on June 23 and 24. This crucial initiative, themed “Strengthening the Nigerian Health System – The Role of Community Health Practitioners,” underscores the vital role community health practitioners play in delivering quality healthcare services.
This is contained in a release issued by Dr. Risikat Onawola, the Director of Community Health Institute (CHI) and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Monday.
The programme, organized by Community Health Institute (CHI) in collaboration with the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) seeks to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery and foster a more responsive and effective primary healthcare system.
This important training is aimed at building the capacity of community health practitioners to improve service delivery and contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of Nigeria’s primary health care system.
