Alayande Varsity VC, Lanre Olaniyan To Mark One Year In Office

Activities to mark the one year in office celebration of Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo is set to commence.

According to a release from the University’s Spokesman, ‘Wale Adeoye, the event will start on Tuesday, 27 August, 2024 with an Interdenominational Service; project commissioning; anniversary lecture titled, “Benchmarking Graduate Output from Nigerian Universities” to be delivered by a former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka and cutting of Anniversary Cake.

According to the release, Wednesday, 28 August, 2024 will feature exhibitions and drama performances by the Creative, Theatre Arts and Yoruba Language Departments. The grand finale is the finals of the University Sports Fiesta coming up on Thursday, 29 August, 2024.

Quoting the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chairman, Planning Committee, Professor Ibrahim Olatunde Salawu, “We have designed the one year programme to thank God and celebrate our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan whose leadership in the last one year has been of tremendous blessings to our University. It promises to be historic. The occasion would be Chaired by our Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Ayoade Olayiwola Ogunkunle and to be hosted by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo.”

It would be recalled that the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE appointed Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo on Wednesday, 9 August, 2023. He formally assumed duty on Wednesday, 22 August, 2023 and has been in charge of the University administration for a year now.
